008Tyler joined the Drendel & Jansons Law Group full time in 2012 after clerking with the firm for two years. After completing law school and taking the Bar Exam, he was sworn in to the Illinois State Bar in November 2012.

Tyler was born in Mendota, IL. He served four years in the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Sergeant as a team leader in the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. As a Ranger, Tyler led his team on two combat deployments to Afghanistan in 2001 and 2002.

Following his military service, Tyler graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University in 2006 with a BS in Finance and Multinational Business.  Tyler was also a collegiate cyclist, racing for F.S.U. Cycling during both mountain biking and road racing seasons in the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference.  Prior to attending law school, Tyler was employed by Castle Bank in DeKalb, IL for two and a half years as a commercial credit analyst and Bank Secrecy Act analyst.

Tyler graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law, magna cum laude, in May of 2012. While at Northern Illinois University, he was selected to compete in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and was active in N.I.U.’s Public Interest Law Society. During law school, Tyler interned with the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office and was a law clerk with Drendel & Jansons Law Group.

He is admitted to practice in all Illinois state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Kane County Bar Association.  He is also the co-chair of the Kane County Bar Association’s New Lawyers' Division and participates in the Business Law Committee and Local Government Committee.

Emphasis

Tyler’s practice emphasizes business organization and planning, commercial and contract law, municipal law, collections, bankruptcy, land use and zoning, and family law.

His geographical practice area includes DeKalb County, DuPage County, Kane County, and Kendall County.
